The cello is also known as a violoncello. It is larger than a violin and viola but smaller than a double bass. Cellos are made by craftspeople called luthiers. The body of the cello includes the top, back, ribs and f-holes. The neck features a fingerboard, and the peghead contains tuning pegs. Cellos are commonly used in orchestras and chamber music.
