The Hyundai Santa Fe thermostat switch is part of the engine cooling system. However, people sometimes use that name to refer to two different components:
Thermostat: Regulates the flow of engine coolant to maintain the correct operating temperature.
Coolant temperature sensor (thermostat switch): Monitors the engine coolant temperature and sends information to the vehicle's computer. It can also influence the radiator fan operation.
