Medical thermoplastic sheets are pliable plastic materials used to create custom-fit splints, braces, and orthotics for immobilizing, supporting, or protecting a body part. When heated in hot water, they become soft and can be molded directly onto a patient for a perfect, custom fit. 
They become soft and moldable when heated, typically in hot water between \(65-75^{\circ }C\).
They can be stretched, trimmed, and shaped to precisely fit a patient's body, offering a comfortable and lightweight alternative to plaster casts.
Once cooled, they harden to provide rigid support but can often be reheated and reshaped multiple times for adjustments or remolding.
