1.: Thoroughly wash your hands with warm, soapy water and dry them completely. Warm hands can help improve peripheral blood circulation.
2. Device Startup: Pull a fresh test strip from its container (closing the container cap tightly immediately after). Insert the strip completely into the strip port at the top of the monitor; this will automatically power on the device.
3. Sampling: Load a sterile lancet into your lancing pen, adjust the depth setting, and prick the side of your fingertip. Wipe away the very first drop of blood, then gently massage the finger to produce a second, fresh droplet.
4. Testing: Bring the tip of the inserted test strip directly into contact with the blood droplet. Hold it still until the meter registers the sample and begins its countdown. Your reading will display on the screen.
