A laboratory centrifuge machine is a machine that separates components of a sample using centrifugal force. The sample is placed in tubes or containers that are positioned in a rotating rotor. When the rotor spins at high speed, particles of different density move at different speeds.
Higher density particles tend to move towards the bottom (or outer) of the tube and lighter particles towards the top (or center) of the tube. This means that the components can be separated from each other and streamline the research and lab work.
